PLEASE READ: New Moodle Log in method and Policy
by Sarah Meadus - Monday, October 5, 2009, 09:05 PM

Dear Beloit College Moodle users:

ISR is pleased to announce a new Moodle policy. Please find the policy on the ISR web site here.

This policy introduces a new login method for Moodle. Users of Moodle will be able to login directly with their Beloit College network username and password. There will no longer be a need to manually create your own account in Moodle nor will there be a need to remember multiple passwords for your email and Moodle. The change will take place on Monday, June 8th, 2009 in the morning. The Moodle server will still be available during this change, but please remember to log into Moodle using your Beloit College network username and password after noon on June 8th, 2009.

New students, faculty, and staff will automatically have an account created for them in Moodle from this point on. Any non-Beloit College user who has a legitimate need to access Beloit College's Moodle site can contact the Moodle Administrator (moodle@beloit.edu) to have an account set up.

Please contact the Moodle Administrator if you have any questions about this or if you are having any trouble logging in.

Thanks and Happy Moodling!

Moodle Announcements
by Sarah Meadus - Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 04:54 PM

Hello fellow Moodlers,

A few important announcements for those who teach courses using Moodle…

1) The Moodle Admin will be removing 2006 courses from the server at the end of May. If you are interested in keeping any of the material from your 2006 courses, you should back up your course and save the zipped back up file to your computer. You will need to give this zipped file to the Moodle admin to have anything restored from it. You could also back up individual course readings/resources by saving them to a folder on your computer. Instructions for backing up your course are located here on page 4 in the "Backing up your course data" section. Please let the Moodle admin know if you have any questions about backing up your course or individual course readings/resources.

2) The Library staff and Moodle Admin are excited to tell you about ways to integrate library resources within your course. Please click here for an overview of adding a BelCat search link to your course, information on linking directly to a journal article or e-book, instructions for including a librarian "chat widget" in your course, and much more. Please let the Moodle admin know if you have questions about integrating library resources with your Moodle course.

Thanks and Happy Moodling!
